Sainsbury's, Superdrug & Boots- Bargains & Buys

I have something to admit to you.. I went rather crazy last week. You could even say insane. I visited Sainsbury's (hardcore!), Boots and Superdrug in two separate visits, which for some reason makes it sound better. It's all this GCSE nonsense, it's set my brain into shop-til-you-drop mode. I'll be reviewing some of the more adventurous products, but here's a little overview.

Jergens Naturals Skin Firming Moisturiser
I've used this on and off this week and love it. Someone recommended it on their blog so I had to pick it up (can't remember who). It does take a while to sink in, but keeps your skin moisturised all day long.. and I actually think it's firming up my legs a little. Only time will tell!

Gillette Satin Care Shaving Gel (Dry)
I haven't used this yet, as I wanted to use up my super old one first. I put some on my finger and then washed it off to test just how moisturising it was. It passed that test, so I'm gonna use it soon and report back.

Biore Pore Strips
I've used these once so far after seeing Christina recommend them on her blog, and I'm so glad I picked them up. These actually work and give a lot of satisfaction, money well spent.

Tamara Drewe
Isn't Gemma Arterton gorgeous? It's the main reasion I got this DVD (lame). I haven't watched it yet but will tweet when I do. It looks quite good, definitely my kinda film.

Maybelline 'ONE BY ONE' Mascara
I've tried this out and it gives the most fanned out, long lashes imaginable. If you suffer from hay fever I wouldn't get this because it is such a hassle when it gets wet!
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Liner In Red Dynamite
This is so creamy and easy to apply! The colour is really pigmented and it was only £2.99 in Superdrug. Bargain. I may get a few more of these in different colours, they are amazing.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer
I picked this up in the wrong colour when I was trying to find a back up. I've already got one and depend on it daily, so I'm gutted I got the wrong shade! I was in such a rush I didn't even notice.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in Precious Beige (602)
I wanted a bronzed lipstick that made me look radiant and summery. This does exactly that because it has a gold shimmer that makes you look sun kissed. It can be quite drying though, and wears off quite quickly. I have 3 of these lipsticks and the drying factor doesn't put me off!

Revlon Lipgloss in Peach Petal
I love this lipgloss and am so glad I've finally caught on! The amount of times I've seen this on a blog is probably record breaking! It's not very sticky but is really pigmented. A lovely nude peach colour, perfect for summer. It looks great over Precious Beige too.

It's fair to say I had a rather fun time taking all the deals in at Sainsbury's. Especially the easter eggs! I'm not all shopped out though, not a chance!

The Royal Wedding

Kate Middleton married William Mountbatten-Windsor today, the 29th of April at 11am. It was the most beautiful thing, and I thought I'd show some of my favourite image already released of the Princess and Prince. They both look so happy!

It was so natural, laid back and picturesque as they sat in their carriage on the way back to Buckingham Palace. You can tell they are really in love, and have been for some time. Princess Catherine was wearing a beautiful Alexander McQueen dress and apparently did her own makeup using Lancome products.

We can now call them the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, very posh, with Kate's full name being Catherine Elizabeth Mountbatten-Windsor. They definitely suit their royal names, especially Catherine. I think she'll be the best Princess yet, and although they've just got married, I think she'll make an amazing mum! What will they call the kids?

This has definitely been a day in history, and I know it'll be plastered all across the news tonight and tomorrow. I'm so happy for them! She's a lucky lady, minus the fact he's losing his hair.

Wishlist Wednesday #1- Summer Sun

I've been having a look around some of my favourite websites for some beautiful clothes to place in my wardrobe. Here are a few things I saw, and loved. I wouldn't wear them all together as they would clash but I love how individual and unique everything is.

*Topshop is coming out with 3 metallic nail polish shades soon, with Heart Of Gold being one them. I believe they will be in shops from May onwards, but I'd snap one up as soon as they are introduced! I'm going to be picking up Heart Of Gold, but am worried I'll end up picking up all three!*

A few little changes, and an update!

If you've visited my blog lately you will have seen the changes I've made recently. I felt my blog was looking a little outdated, and it wasn't the easiest to navigate around. I thought to myself 'if it's not suitable for my followers, why keep it like this?' so quickly snapped out some of my HTML wizardry and cast a beautiful spell over my entire blog.

I've added and changed pages, including a new 'Forthcoming Posts' page where you can see which posts I'm currently working on/think about doing. You may also have a choice to get involved on there, as it's where I will post little updates etc. At the moment you can take part in a series of interview posts, so if you'd like to be featured on my blog just write a comment below.

Talking of comments below, I've started using a different system which allows me to reply to your individual comments. If you've got a question you can now ask and I will respond as soon as I see it. How cool is that?

The other changes include ads being made smaller so you can see more of the good stuff, a few not-so-interesting widgets have been removed and best of all.. I've increased the width of my blog so you can see everything a little bit better.

Posts will be back to normal as soon as, but for now I am concentrating on revision. All of my spare time is being spent sleeping, eating and being outside in the sun hiding from my exam textbooks (CGP I'm talking to you). I'm starting to miss my blog and come online at least 4 times a day just to check everything that's going on. I can't wait to be back, maybe then I'll post a little more regularly!

*You can also now subscribe to my blog via email, but make sure you verify the email address to receive them!*

Would you treat me different? Dressing Up!

This post is mainly for my best friend to see, but also for you to laugh at me. Just don't tell me you're laughing ;)

For my art project, Self Image, I decided to paint my face like a clown and take a few photos. Like ya' do. I then edited a few, so I will show you a selection of the photos. I'm not gonna show you them all though, as some are pretty hideous

BEFORE

EDITED- Changed focal point to face, blurred background, changed colours, sharpened.

'You're a clown, You're a joker' - a play on the word Joker. Joker as in dressed up, can find self funny, but also as you are fake and believe this will change how you are perceived by others.

 BEFORE

EDITED- colours changed, sharpened slightly

'What I see isn't what you see'- How I have made myself does not reflect me, it's how I want to be seen. (not really) I may look scary, but inside I'm a mouse (really). ;)

BEFORE

EDITED- Face morphed, exposure slightly changed.

'Would you treat me different?'- This was influenced by the program Beauty & The Beast (The Ugly Face Of Prejudice), where a man talks bluntly about the effect it has of being different. If I was different, how would you treat me?

BEFORE

EDITED- Sharpened, colours changed, saturation increased.

'I feel so colourless, like my words are painted black and white.'- I did this because I wanted a sad emotion to go alongside all the others. I wanted to show that you may be dressed in happy colours to mask your real emotions. I love sad clowns, I don't know why :)

BEFORE (rather attractive pose if I do say so myself!) ;)

EDITED- I pixelated the photo, while focusing on the eyes and mouth. Colours darkened.

'Can you see me?'- I related this to when you talk to someone, you focus on their eyes. I focus on people's mouths too, strange! I just thought this effect was amazing, how you can still see the outline through the pixelated image. This one is my favourite!

Something a little different from usual, what do you think? Will you be sporting this amazing, wearable look anytime soon :P

all photos are of myself, and are edited by myself. they are NOT to be used by anybody else, in any circumstance.

It's like an episode of QI..

Okay I don't watch QI, but I thought that was an intriguing title. I saw this quiz on Jess's blog and thought it was kinda strange, how it could judge your personality from answering a few imaginative questions. From my results below, I must say they are how I see myself. Maybe some are a little off.. but most match my personality, or how I see my personality to be!

If you'd like to take this quiz yourself, you can do so here :)

Recipe For A Best Friend's Birthday Present

-DANGER-
Attempting to copy this idea may lead to a serious need of cleaning up. Parental guidance needed!! (only joking)

Without my best friend's agreement I decided to post the gift I made/gave her for her birthday yesterday, which to be honest I'm quite proud of! She won't mind! So without further ado, here is my recipe for a best friend's birthday present..

1) Pick a cute container.. either a box, bucket, vase or flower pot (the more creative the better!)

2) Buy some sweets you know your friend will love, failing that buy two large cups of pick'n'mix! Put these in the box.

3) Fill the box slightly with shredded paper, tissue paper, foam shapes.. I think shredded paper makes it look more like a lucky dip, which is what I'm going for.

4) Buy a skincare item. I got my best friend (yes, you Anna if you are reading this!) a Passion Fruit Shower Gel from The Body Shop, as it's from a brand she really likes. I got this in their sale, and it smells amazing :)

5) Add a few little makeup products. I chose a lipstick and a blush, but you can pick anything you like!

6) Take the 2 makeup products and your skincare product and place them into the box, hiding them completely with your desired material. I'm using shredded paper.

7) Squeeze everything in and close the box.. you're nearly done now :)

8) Wrap it up, and add some cute little bows and your done. Perfecto!

Have you done something like this for a friend? Are you going to?
Share the love and comment below :D

Sunday Summary (7)

I feel like I'm doing these all the time recently.. but this month should be a little different. I will hopefully have quite a few interesting posts for you! Let's wait and see :)

  • I've been spending more time with my dad recently, which has been great. My parents live together but are in the process of a divorce.. It's been going on for a few years though so I'm not upset or anything. I tend to spend a lot of time with my mum as my dad works long hours, but lately I've had more spare time and so has he. We spend 2 hours yesterday walking our doggies which was fun. 30 minutes of that was spent with my dad looking up at a tree trying to find a bird that was chirping. We aren't a strange family at all.. we just couldn't find the bird!
  • After getting a few things from MAC's Quite Cute collection, my mum has now decided she wants the Fashion Fanatic plush glass I got. So as soon as MAC opens up their website again I will be buying 2, one for her and a spare for me. I've never found a lip gloss that suits my skin so well, I love it. :)
  • It's Mother's Day! I got my mum some flowers last night, and have got her a Clinton's Card's card (strange sentence!) with some Thornton's chocolates. We aren't going to do anything special because her back is playing up at the minute, meaning she's finding it hard to bend down, drive and walk. Not good. We are planning on watching Inception, as she still hasn't watched it since I got it for her at christmas!
  • I'd like to say thanks to you all for clicking on my posts when they pop up in your dashboard. It may sound a little silly, but it means an awful lot! I am hoping to get 200 followers by the end of this month, so if you see me posting on twitter I would love a RT. When I reach 200 I am going to be getting a few products for you all, which will include some Pantene sample/travel products. :)
