5 Random Facts.

So I have seen a lot, and I mean a lot, of people making these quirky little blogs about 5 random facts of their lives. I have many facts about my life, but some of them are not very interesting, so I will have to choose some interesting ones.

1: I don't know whether anybody else in the world does this, but I have to run up the stairs in my house as fast as I can. This was all caused by my dad who used to convince me there was such a thing called a 'bogey monster'. Yes I know that has nothing to do with a staircase, but he always used to say the monster would be sat outside my window waiting for me to go to bed and close my eyes, so it could jump through the window and cover me in.. snot.

This also left me afraid to close my curtains for 2 YEARS, so every night my dad had to come up the stairs behind me, to make sure I was safe, and close my curtains. So basically, my dad paid for his mistake, which he deserved. :)

2: I have a hobby no-one knows about, which is beading. I just adore making cute little bracelets and dangly earrings for my mum and friends (as I don't have my ears pierced). Recently I started buying certain magazines especially for jewellery making, and entered a little competition, where I won a free bracelet kit and a started pack, even though I had already started beading. Making things with tiny beads just entertains me and uses up all my boring free time, as well as de-stress me and help me concentrate.

I would RUN over to the old fashioned radio in my room and slot in my Spice Girls C.D. We would then jog around picking things upo and throwing them into the different places and race to finish cleaning before our favourite song finished, which we usually didn't succeed, and would end up finishing just as the whole C.D has finished. I will always remember that, as we really thought it was magic that music would make us clean quicker. :)

5: I will always laugh when I get reminded of another time me and my best friend spent together. We were in Dorset (South of England) for a holiday away in my family's caravan, in the nicest holiday park there was, well.. pretty much, and I was having a great time. That night my family, as well as my friend all went out to one of the park's 'night outs', where they were having a doughnut eating contest, where you weren't allowed to lick your lips. Me and my friend built up the confidence to run up onto the stage and say we were willing to eat doughnuts infront of around 200 people.

Just as the camp entertainer gave me my doughnut, my friend rushed off the stage, tripping down the steps and started crying.. she ran over to my mum and dad, and hid behind them, leaving me on the stage. I was so scared I could of been sick, but I knew I would look absolutely ridiculous if I was to run off the stage. After about 5 minutes of the entertainer shouting down his microphone 'COME ON KIDS, YOU CAN DO IT!', I did start to wheep a little, and a tear fell down the side of my face. The entertainer came up to me, staring straight at my face, leaving me terrified and just laughed at me. I ran off the stage towards my parents, and my mum grabbed me and hugged me until I stopped crying. Let's just say, I haven't ate doughnuts since. :(
3: I have a 'pet peeve' for sinks. Well not sinks, but toothpaste marks left in the sink. As I live with 3 adults, they usually clean it after they brush their teeth, but whenever my friends stay over they always leave toothpaste marks everywhere, which can get seriously annoying and kinda grose. I don't really want to spend my time clearing dried toothpaste that contains little bits of plaque and my friend's spit, eeeeeww. :(

4: When I was around 6 or 7 I had a best friend, who I won't name, but she lived 4 doors down from mine and we were literally inseperable, we really were. Everytime she came over to mine we would totally wreck my bedroom and have toys flung from one side to the other. Mum would come upstairs to tell me it was time for her to go home, and would actually have a heart attack looking at my room. She would say 'if you don't clean up this mess you won't have your friend around here ever again', which lead me to cry my eyes out for around 10 minutes. Then my friend would come over to me and giggle saying 'don't worry, we can clean it, we are magic!' and I would know exactly what she meant.

Lush Review- Body Butters

Lush's body butters are known for their moisturizing and exfoliating elements, which I agree with. The two I have tried are You Snap The Whip and Buffy.

Using body butters can be quite annoying and does irritate many people, but when used correctly they can be the nicest product you have ever used. Different butters have different functions, but all are moisturizing, meaning they are a god send in the winter months. I would not recommend using a body butter in the bath, as it made all of my skin slimy and my hair instantly greasy, my mistake. Just rub the bar onto all the parts you think need work and your done, but be careful not to scratch your leg as you only want to scrub and not leave cuts.

You Snap The Whip:

This body butter is described by Lush as: 'It's black, it's fruity and it scrubs your skin really, really hard. It's black, it's fruity and it scrubs your skin really, really hard.' I would totally agree with this description, as it smells very like ribena's blackcurrant scent, and is also great for a good old scrub. I would recommend using this bar once or twice a week, but no more, as it will leave your skin quite used and abused.

The bar doesn't last very long at all, so try not to get it under running water when it will dissolve even quicker. Even though it doesn't last very long, I love it!

£5.00 per bar

Buffy:
This body butter is definitely my new favourite, as it is made to 'slay that cellulite'. This bar has lasted a very long time and after using it over 10 times I still have over half of the original bar left! It really smells like it's ingredients of almonds and rice, which make the bar smell very sophisticated. I find this bar a lot more exfoliating than You Snap The Whip, but also more moisturizing for my dry skin. After using this my skin has made a very dramatic change into healthy skin!
£5.00 per bar

You can also get a free tin when you buy two of any body butters right now, worth £2.95!

What A Horrible Day

What a horrible day I have had today. Started off with my favourite lessons- Art and Textiles, but at Lunchtime I could feel my forehead get tight and start to sting, then the aching came.. and the dizziness. I have always suffered from migraines, but have never experienced such a horrible feeling. I couldn't participate in the last lessons, so wasted 2 hours of Textiles, which I was very devastated about. How cruel life can be...

After that I thought things couldn't get any worse, but of course it did. I had got a text saying 'sorry, you have to walk home' which I was not too happy about, but it was made worse when I looked outside the window to see it raining like a fountain. As I walked down the hill my best friend stopped her mum's car and shouted over to me 'soph, get in the car!' so I ran over to the car and jumped onto the seat! She then dropped me home and I was so suprised to find my key in my bag, which I usually forget.

Isn't it just great to have such good friends?

Lush - Bathtime Cocktails

Since I started using Lush products I always wanted to use my bath, as I really wanted to experiment with all the Bath Ballistics, Bombs and Melts. I had never really liked having a bath, as I was only allowed a certain amount of water when I was younger, and found it very boring to sit in a bath the size of a tiny puddle. That was until my best friend brought me the Bunty Lush Giftbox two months ago. I then started experimenting, and have a few little groups of products which really go well together and make an awsome bath.

My Little Mermaid:
1/2 Big Blue Ballistic- perfect when missing the warm ocean.
Sunny Side Bubble Bar - creates a very glittery and feminine feel.
You could always add 1/2 of Floating Island bath melt if you feel the need for added moisture.

Honey I washed the.. no wait! I washed MYSELF:
Honey Bee Ballistic- or use the limited edition Honey Bun.
Ma Bar Bubble Bar- create a sensual feeling, to help you relax without all the calories!
Use some Honey I washed the kids soap for a true honey theme.

Happy Skin:

Butterball Ballistic- Cocoa butter to make your skin smile.
Amando Pondo Bubble Bar- A lovely bubble bar to enlighten.
Ceridwyn's Cauldron Melt- A moisture rich melt to really help your skin in the winter months.

Fruit Forest:
Blackberry Ballistic- leaves you smelling delicious.
The Comforter Bubble Bar- crumble this little baby in your bath for creamy bubbles.
I wouldn't really use a bath melt with this, as I wouldn't want to ruin any of the aroma.

Wake Up, Shake Up:

1/2 Happy Pill - citrus smells will awake your senses.
Sunny Side Bubble Bar - added glitter will create the glamour feel.
You've Been Mangoed - this mango bar will make the bath silky and moisturizing, leaving your skin beautiful and ready to face the day ahead.

All these cocktails I have created myself, and really do enjoy. Using a different combination each bath can really have a positive effect on your mood, whether you feel happy or sad.

Lush - Five favourite products

I have had to think really carefully about my five favourite Lush products, as I seem to love them all. After quite a while of thinking I narrowed it down to five.
Jumping Juniper Shampoo Bar
This shampoo bar is definitely the nicest shampoo I have ever experienced. I have felt such a difference in my hair since I started using it, that I don't think I will ever be able to go back to the ordinary drug store shampoos ever again!
£4.65

Skin Nanny Moisturizer
I got this moisturizer as a sample from an order online, which I was very happy to get 5 samples with. This was by far my favourite, along with Skin Drink. It is so thick and creamy that it's almost a form of butter! Unlike other moisturizers Skin Nanny doesn't leave grease on my skin and doesn't stay on the surface, but sinks into my under-nourished skin.
£25.50

Each Peach (and two's a pair) Massage Bar
This massage bar is definitely one of the most amazing smelling bars Lush sell, I am sure. The citrus smell is very refreshing and really helps my skin get the added moisture it needs after having a long soak in the bath. I will have to re-purchase this, it's a god send!
£4.75

Candy Fluff Egg Ballistic
This is a limited edition easter item, which shares the same scent as Snow Fairy and Godmother Soap. The smell is a very girly and sweet smell, and reminds me of an old fashioned sweet shop. The bright pink colour is really lovely and is perfect for a chilled out bath just before bedtime! So make sure you get your hands on one of these before easter passes.
£2.75

Rockstar SoapLush is known for it's lovely selection of soap, and I must say this soap gets right to my weak spot. The pink and creamy soap is perfect for using on your body as well as your hands. The smell is quite musky, and took my a while to get used to, but now I totally adore the sweet and feminine scent. I will have to get some more or this soon, as I can't bare to be without it!
£2.90 per 100g

I would definitely recommend all of these Lush products for anybody who is very feminine and just wants to smell absolutely gorgeous!

Lush Review- Shampoo Bars

All of Lush's shampoo bars are priced at £4.65 (with the exception of Godiva at £5.50), which is incredibly cheap when you realise one shampoo bar can last you upto 6 months if you treat it kindy. I never really noticed how great they are for value, until I saw a little banner on their website saying 'one bar is the same as 3 bottles of shampoo', which is obviously aimed at 100g bottles.

The only two shampoo bars I have tried so far have been Jumping Juniper and Ultimate Shine, which I am highly impressed with. The easiest way to use a shampoo bar is to get your hair fully wet, and grab for the bar. Rub it along your hair as much as you think is necessary (you don't need to scrub for hours) and dip under running water for a second. This creates the most amazing lather, and you can feel your hair expanding. Then have a good rub around ;) until you think your hair has had enough. Rinse thoroughly and you're done!

Ultimate Shine is self explaining, but just incase you don't understand; you get the most amazing shine! I have used this around 15 times to date, and I must say it's incredible. I am well and truely hooked. I would rate it- 4/5 stars, as the smell isn't the greatest, a bit like Vick's Oil that you sniff when you have a clogged nose.

Jumping Juniper is definitely my favourite of the 2, as it smells great, like herbs and sugar all mixed into one. I suffer from very greasy hair, like most teenagers and I find this works a treat! I do the exact same as I do with Ultimate Shine, and I can tell the difference as soon as I blow dry. The only problem I get is tangles, though it's worth it for sleek and healthy hair that doesn't get greasy in a second. I would rate it- 4.5/5 stars, because I really enjoy using it, but it can make my hair tangle.

I hear everybody complaining about their shampoo bars sticking to their tin, but I have found a simple way to stop this. When you get out of the shower, quickly take a trip to your nearest window and stand it up infront of the sun, but be careful it doesn't roll away. After about half an hour, I then put the bar back into the tin and hey presto, a non sticky shampoo bar that is easy to get next time I need it. If you do get the shampoo bar stuck in it's tin, just get a pair of pliers and force it out!

Overall, shampoo bars are definitely the best thing since, well, sliced bread! :)
